Search for “highest paying IT skills in Pakistan” and you will find lists that promise Rs. 5 lakh a month or $10,000 a month. Many of those lists are written by companies that sell courses. This guide is different: it shows which IT skills employers actually list, explains why we are not publishing a salary table, and shows you how to check real salaries yourself in about 15 minutes.
Please note: We are not a training institute and we do not sell courses. The skills table is from Qureos’s career guide (last updated August 2026). Salaries depend on city, company, experience, your English and your portfolio, and nobody can promise an income. If a course or a person promises a fixed salary after a short course, be careful.
IT Skills Employers Ask For in Pakistan

Qureos lists these as in-demand tech roles in Pakistan, along with the skills that go with them.
| Role | Skills listed |
|---|---|
| Software Engineer | Java, Python, React.js, SQL |
| Full-Stack Developer | JavaScript, Node.js, React, SQL |
| Mobile App Developer | Flutter, React Native, Swift, Kotlin |
| Data Analyst / Scientist | SQL, Python, Power BI, machine learning |
| AI / ML Engineer | Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, statistics |
| Cloud Engineer | AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes |
| DevOps Engineer | Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bash, Kubernetes |
| Cybersecurity Analyst | Network security, SIEM, Linux, risk management |
| UI/UX Designer | Figma, Adobe XD, prototyping |
| Product Manager | Agile, roadmapping, communication |
The guide says data science, AI and cloud roles pay the most, but it gives no salary figures. Note that many of these jobs need a degree or some real experience, not just a short course.
Why We Are Not Publishing a Salary Table
- Course sellers inflate numbers. One popular “highest paying skills 2026” page we read is published by a training company and does not name where each figure comes from. Its top numbers apply to senior people with years of experience, not to beginners.
- The independent survey is old. A PASHA survey reported by TechJuice in September 2021 found entry-level programmers earned about Rs. 51,000 a month on average. That is five years old, so treat it only as a rough reminder that beginner pay is far below the big numbers online.
- Freelance dollars are not a salary. Freelance income is irregular and depends on clients. Read our posts on what the freelancer earnings number really means and how AI is changing freelance work.
How to Check Real Salaries in 15 Minutes

- Pick one target job title, for example “Junior Data Analyst” or “Flutter Developer”.
- Open 10 current job ads on Rozee, Mustakbil and LinkedIn Jobs. Write down the salary where it is shown, plus the experience asked.
- Note the required skills that appear in at least half of the ads. That is your learning list.
- Ask two or three people already working in that role: seniors, relatives or LinkedIn contacts. Ask for a range for freshers, not their exact salary.
- Use the middle, not the top. If most ads for freshers show a range, plan for the middle of it.
Repeat this for a second job title. In half an hour you will know more than from any “top 10” list.
How to Choose a Skill
- Start from what you already have. A commerce student may do well with Excel, SQL and Power BI. A design student can look at Figma and UI/UX. A computer science student can pick one stack, such as web or Flutter.
- Test it for 30 days before paying. Learn the basics from free resources first. See our list of free skills to learn online.
- Build something real. Employers and clients want proof: a small project, a dashboard or an app you can show.
- Add it to your profile. Update your CV and your LinkedIn profile with the project.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Choosing a skill only because a video shows a huge salary.
- Paying for an expensive course before you have tried the free basics.
- Learning five skills at once and finishing none.
- Believing “100% job guarantee” or “earn in dollars in 30 days” promises.
- Skipping English and communication. Many IT jobs and clients need them.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which IT skill pays the most in Pakistan?
Employer guides point to data, AI and cloud roles as high-paying, but beginner pay is much lower than senior pay, and we found no recent independent salary survey with figures. Check current job ads for your role.
Can I get an IT job without a degree?
Some companies hire on skills and projects, but many ask for a degree. Read the ads for your target role.
How long does it take to learn an IT skill?
It depends on the skill and your background. Plan for months of regular practice, not weeks.
Are short courses enough to get hired?
A course alone rarely is. Employers look for projects, problem-solving and communication.
Is freelancing better than a job?
They are different. A job gives a regular salary. Freelancing can pay more or less and is irregular, especially at the start.
Final Words
Do not chase a salary number from the internet. Choose one in-demand skill that fits your background, check ten real job ads, test the skill for 30 days and build one project. That is slower than a “get rich” video, but it is honest and it works better. For more guides on online earning in Pakistan, keep visiting EarnExpertHub.
