Thousands of graduates sat the CSS 2027 screening test (MPT). If you passed, or if you plan to apply for the main exam, the next dates matter. This guide lists the CSS 2027 timeline, the eligibility rules in the FPSC notice and a simple plan for the next 100 days.
Please note: We are not FPSC. The MPT notice and its rescheduling come from FPSC documents. The dates for the written exam come from the FPSC advance-notice schedule as reported by ARY News (4 July 2026) and a preparation site (updated 5 October 2026). They are described as tentative, so confirm them in the official advertisement when FPSC publishes it at fpsc.gov.pk.

The MPT was moved because a protest had been announced for 27 September. FPSC said all other terms stayed the same.
Eligibility (From the MPT Notice)
- Degree: Bachelor’s with at least second division, or an equivalent recognised degree.
- Age: 21 to 30 years on the cut-off date, 31 December 2026, with a two-year relaxation for categories listed in the rules.
- MPT is compulsory. The notice says qualifying the MPT is mandatory for applying and appearing in the main CSS 2027 exam.
- Attempts: not stated in the notice we read. Check the rules.
Fees
- MPT: Rs. 250, paid through 1-Link (the notice says old challans, cheques and drafts are not accepted).
- Written exam: one preparation site expects Rs. 2,200, based on last year’s notice. This is not confirmed for 2027.
What To Do Now
If you passed the MPT:
- Check your result and keep a copy of the result letter once FPSC publishes it.
- Create or update your account on the FPSC website. Match your name, CNIC and date of birth exactly with your documents.
- Arrange scanned copies of degrees, domicile and CNIC. Our guide on documents required for government jobs shows the common list.
- Keep money ready for the fee and watch for the official advertisement around 8 November.
If you did not pass or did not appear: the notice says the MPT is compulsory for CSS 2027. Use the time to plan for the next exam cycle and read the new rules when FPSC announces them.
A 100-Day Study Plan (Our Suggestion)
This is our own plan, not an official syllabus.
- Days 1 to 30: English essay and precis. Write one essay a week and get it checked by a teacher or a friend.
- Days 31 to 60: compulsory subjects such as current affairs, Pakistan affairs and Islamiat. Make short notes.
- Days 61 to 90: optional subjects. Solve past papers under a timer.
- Days 91 to 100: revision, mock papers and rest. Do not start new topics in the last week.

Mistakes to Avoid
- Depending on social media posts for dates. Use only fpsc.gov.pk.
- Entering a wrong CNIC or date of birth. FPSC says wrong entries can lead to rejection.
- Paying agents who “guarantee” a CSS result. Nobody can.
- Submitting the online form but missing the hard-copy deadline.
