Punjab CM e-Bike Scheme 2026: Applications Closed, What Happens Next?

Last updated: October 13, 2026

More than 11 lakh students registered for the Punjab CM e-Bike Scheme. The government plans 1 lakh bikes. That is roughly 11 applicants for every bike, by our own calculation.

If you applied, you are probably asking: when will I know, and what will I pay? If you did not apply, you may be asking whether you missed your chance. This guide uses news reports from September and October 2026 and tells you clearly what is known and what is not.

Please note: We are not the Punjab government. The reports we read name bikes.punjab.gov.pk as the official portal, but we could not open it ourselves, so check the portal for your own application status. Rules and amounts can change.

Where the Scheme Stands

  • Applications: they opened on 5 September 2026 and the deadline was 4 October 2026.
  • Registrations: 1,149,058 registrations, of which 222,101 were female students, according to a report of 2 October.
  • Bikes in this phase: 100,000.
  • Distribution: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said it will start in early November. No exact date has been given.

What Will a Student Pay?

E-bike cost breakdown: Rs 199,000 price, Rs 109,000 paid by student over 36 months

The latest report gives these numbers:

  • Price of the bike: Rs. 199,000
  • Paid by the student: Rs. 109,000
  • Instalments: 36 months, about Rs. 3,028 per month
  • Down payment: none
  • Mark-up (interest), insurance and registration: covered by the government
  • Extras: a helmet, safety rods and free driving training

Earlier reports from June and September mention different figures, for example a Rs. 70,000 subsidy with a Rs. 14,000 down payment, or a Rs. 90,000 subsidy. The terms seem to have changed as the scheme developed, so we use the latest ones. Check the portal for the final terms in your agreement.

Who Could Apply?

  • Students of public and private educational institutions in Punjab
  • Age 16 or above at the time of application
  • A valid driving licence, learner’s permit or juvenile driving permit
  • A guarantor: a parent or legal guardian with a valid CNIC and proof of income, and a mobile number registered in the guarantor’s name

What Happens After You Apply?

  1. Verification: authorities check your student status, driving document and guarantor details.
  2. Financing approval: applicants who pass verification move to financing.
  3. Delivery: after financing formalities, successful applicants get the bike with a helmet and safety rods.

Wrong CNIC details, a mismatched mobile number or missing documents can cause delays, so check your application on the portal.

How Are the 100,000 Selected?

This is the part that is not clear. One report says completed applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Another report does not explain the method at all. We have not seen an official statement about balloting or what happens to applicants who are not selected.

Do not trust anyone who says he knows the “list” or who offers to move your name up for money. Wait for the official announcement.

Beware of Fake Portals

How to spot a fake Punjab e-bike portal

In July 2026, ProPakistani reported a website, e-bikescheme.pk, that claimed to be the official portal. The report found it was not an official government site, had unrelated gaming keywords and links to third-party gambling and money sites, and showed no clear government ownership.

  • The official address in the reports ends with .punjab.gov.pk. Type it yourself instead of clicking links in messages.
  • Never enter your CNIC, bank details or OTP on a site you reached from a forwarded message.
  • Nobody can sell you a “confirmed” bike. The government says it covers the registration cost.
