Most government job ads ask for a specific degree: a law degree, a B.Ed., an engineering degree. The reports of this one do not name any subject. The Special Branch of Punjab Police has announced 30 Intelligence Officer posts, and a second-division graduation from an HEC-recognised university, plus basic computer knowledge, is the qualification they list.
The posts are part of PPSC Advertisement No. 11/2026, and the last date to apply is 26 October 2026. Here is what the advertisement says, who can apply, how the test works and how to get ready, in plain words.
Please note: We are not Punjab Police or PPSC. We summarised news reports and a job portal’s copy of the advertisement. We could not open the official PPSC page ourselves, so please read the full Advertisement No. 11/2026 on the official PPSC website before you apply. The fee amount was not given in the reports we read. Never pay anyone to “arrange” a police job.
Job Overview

Cities listed: Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Sialkot and Sargodha. The posting is anywhere in Punjab.
Who Can Apply?
Qualification (either route)
- Route 1: second-division graduation from an HEC-recognised university, plus basic computer knowledge. No experience needed.
- Route 2: second-division graduation from an HEC-recognised university, plus five years of experience in the Intelligence Wing of a law-enforcement agency. Only experience gained after the qualification counts.
Men, women and transgender candidates can apply.
Age limit
- Men: 21 to 35 years, with a 5-year relaxation (up to 40)
- Women: 21 to 35 years, with an 8-year relaxation (up to 43)
- Transgender candidates: age and gender are taken from the CNIC
Check how the age is counted (the cut-off date) in the official advertisement. A form rejected for age after you have paid the fee is a loss you can avoid.
How the Test Works

According to the reports, selection starts with a written test:
- 100 marks, multiple-choice questions, 90 minutes
- About 80% general ability: General Knowledge, Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Geography, Basic Mathematics, English, Urdu, Everyday Science and Islamic Studies. Non-Muslim candidates get General Knowledge questions instead of Islamic Studies.
- About 20% Basic Computer Studies
Shortlisted candidates may be called for an interview, where applicable, and the final selection is made by PPSC under its rules. Check the advertisement for the full process.

A Simple Two-Week Plan for the Test
This plan is our own suggestion, not an official syllabus. Adjust it to your level.
- Days 1 to 4: Pakistan Studies and Geography. Make short notes on key dates, provinces, rivers and the constitution.
- Days 5 to 7: Current Affairs. Read one good Pakistani newspaper daily and note the main events of the last 12 months.
- Days 8 to 10: English, Urdu and Basic Mathematics. Practise grammar, vocabulary, percentages and ratios.
- Days 11 to 12: Everyday Science and Islamic Studies (or General Knowledge).
- Days 13 to 14: Basic Computer Studies: parts of a computer, MS Word, Excel, internet and email basics. This part is worth about 20 marks, so do not skip it.
Solve past papers of similar PPSC tests if you can find them, and time yourself at 90 minutes.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Applying on the last day, when the website is slow.
- Skipping the computer section because “it is only 20%”.
- Applying without checking the age and domicile rules.
- Believing anyone who says he can “fix” a Special Branch job for money. It is a scam.
